One kidney was transplanted in a 29 year old  woman at Beilinson, and another was put in a seven year old girl at Rambam hospital.

Amichai’s family wrote of him that: “Amichai Rubin, may God avenge his death, 23 years old when he fell, is the third son of Yishai and Batya Rubin, among the founders of the Ometz settlement group in Akko. From a young age, he was took part in doing and giving, modest and humble, a very beloved brother and friend, whom everyone loved to keep company. Last November, he enlisted in Golani, Battalion 51. Amichai was an excellent soldier and it was planned that he go into command next month.”

The family went on to describe the battle he fought in last Shabbat: “On Shabbat, Rubin and his friends were at a post close to the Gaza border, when the murderous attack of Hamas terrorists began. Due to the deception of the mortal bombardment, they all ran to the reinforced building without weapons and combat equipment. Amichai was among the first who stormed and returned fire with his weapon while killing many terrorists and even saving friends who fought alongside him. During the battle he was wounded by fire to his leg, he sat down and continued to fight.”

The family ended with the story of his supreme heroism: “After a few minutes, he was wounded by a bullet to his head which injured his brain, and despite this he continued to fight for 20 more long minutes before collapsing. Amichai and his friends were extracted from the area after spending more than six hours under fire. He arrived at Hadassah Ein Karem hospital unconscious. The doctors determined his death. He left behind parents, and seven brothers and sisters.”
