Emergency Government

Even Before the Inauguration: The Ministers of the Royal Camp Participate in the Cabinet

A day before the swearing-in of the new government, the ministers of the Royal Camp are participating in the Security Cabinet meeting. It has also been reported that the Knesset plenum will convene to inaugurate the emergency government.

Before the government was sworn in, the leader of the Royal Camp, Benny Gantz, and Member of Knesset Gadi Eisenkot are currently participating in the Cabinet meeting. In addition, Knesset members Gideon Sa'ar, Hili Tropper, and Yifat Shasha-Biton are on their way to the Kirya.

As previously reported, following the agreement reached between Likud and the Royal Camp, it was decided that Knesset members Hili Tropper and Yifat Shasha-Biton would be part of the Cabinet, with the latter serving as an overseer. As reported a short while ago, after a meeting between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the leader of the Royal Camp, Benny Gantz, it was announced that there is an agreement to establish a national emergency government.

The main points of the agreements:

*A "War Management Cabinet" will be established with three members: the Prime Minister, the Defense Minister, and the leader of the Royal Camp. Additionally, Brigadier General Gadi Eizenkot and Minister Ron Dermer will serve as overseers in the War Management Cabinet.

*From the Royal Camp, a total of five ministers without a portfolio will be added to the Security-Defense Cabinet (with one of them serving as an overseer): Benny Gantz, Gideon Sa'ar, Gadi Eizenkot, and two other ministers. This is for the duration of the war.

*A place in the War Management Cabinet will be reserved for the opposition leader in case he joins.

*During the war, no legislative proposals or government decisions unrelated to war management will be advanced. All senior appointments will be automatically extended during the war.
