Members of the headquarters of the families of the kidnapped and missing individuals met today (Tuesday) with the President of the State, Isaac Herzog, and conveyed the severe distress and expressed their demand to do everything possible to bring all the captives and missing persons back home in peace.
Additionally, the representatives expressed their grievance that no official entity has spoken with them for four days. In the meeting, Brigadier General Gal Hirsch, appointed by the government to coordinate the handling of the missing and kidnapped issue, assured them that "the best minds are dealing with the issue of the captives."
"The issue of captives and abductees - top priority"
The president expressed his feelings to the families and said: "We are at war and this must be taken into account. But the issue of captives and abductees is at the top of the list of priorities and that's how it should be."
It was also reported that the representatives of the families expressed their pain that four days after the terrible event, no official contacted them in order to give them information and answer their burning questions.
Eyal Eshel, the father of the intelligence officer Roni Eshel, expressed his pain in the meeting and said that he serves as a spokesperson for all the parents and family members who are awaiting the return of the captives as soon as possible. He stated, "With all due respect to the war, children have been kidnapped, and we will not accept a situation where they grow up there for nine years until they are returned."
"We will not win the war until everyone is at home"
Eden David, the brother of Tair and Hodaya, who are missing, mentioned that "bringing the captives back home is our society's foundation. We will not win the war until everyone is back home. That's the foundation. If necessary, we will shake the country." In the meeting, Colonel (Res.) Gal Hirsch, appointed by the government to oversee the issue of the missing and captured, was also present. Hirsch informed those present that a center for providing answers to the families has begun to operate, clarified that the issue of the captives and missing persons is "on the table," and emphasized that "the best minds are working all the time to bring back the captives."
From the headquarters of the families of the captives and the missing, it was conveyed: "We thank the President of the State, Mr. Isaac Herzog, for responding to our request and hope that the government, along with all the international bodies, will understand that we will not rest or be at ease until all our loved ones return home safely."
