The Abducted and Missing Persons

First announcement of the person in charge of the abducted and missing persons

Brigadier General Gil Hirsch, who is in charge of the issue of prisoners and missing persons, published a statement this evening in which he promised to bring everyone back home: "We have a large number of wounded, missing, and abducted individuals held by the enemy"

A day after being appointed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as the head of the prisoners and missing persons issue, Brigadier General Gil Hirsch published his first statement a short while ago.

"Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu appointed me yesterday to the position of the official responsible for the issue of captives and missing persons," Hirsch began.

According to him: "At this time, we are working on forming a complete picture and making every effort to establish an effective system, a source of hope for all the families concerned about the fate of their loved ones. We are in the midst of a difficult war, the fighting continues, and it will persist."

"We have lost our best sons and daughters; civilians, soldiers, members of the security forces, emergency and rescue personnel, many casualties. We have a large number of wounded, missing, and captives held by the enemy.

"The storm is great, and the heart is very sore. We face heavy tasks ahead, and I am with you in the effort to bring all the missing and captives back home to Israel."
