The lawyer Michael Sfard, is the person who was recorded colliding with Rabbi Leo Dee during morning prayer in Dizengoff Square last night. After the storm that arose as a result of the documentation in the political system, they condemned the event, but now Sfard claims: I did not attack him.
Sfard wrote on his Twitter (X) account: "Wow, how an event of nothing and nothing turns into an accusation of attacking a terrorist victim. I found out a few hours ago that I was at the center of a story that got inflated and I thought to myself that if Rabbi Leo Dee also said that he was not attacked, someone would believe him. So: I am the person photographed In the video, of course, I did not attack Rabbi Dee.
Sfard explained: "I happened to pass through Dizengoff Square and was exposed to a gathering due to the prayer that was held there in segregation with a sign that was used as a curtain. Just before what you see in the clipped video, an argument developed with one of the women, when the leader of the prayer (which I did not know who he was) approached and intervened between us. He stood right on top of me, almost touching me, and through the amplification he had on him, the situation became more difficult. At that moment I realized that things could get heated and that I needed to get out of there - what you see in the cut video is my attempt (even if clumsy) to get out of the situation and get away from there."
Sfard says "The video begins at the point where I try to leave the place. I didn't know who it was about, and of course, regardless of our differences of opinion, Rabbi Dee experienced an unimaginable tragedy that no one should go through. Despite the controversy, I hope he understands that when I fight to end the occupation (never violently) I am fighting to stop the bloodshed. Now those who don't care about the facts are welcome to use the poison. Please."
