At least 48 people were killed and dozens more were injured in a Russian attack on the town of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv district in northeastern Ukraine - this is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said today (Thursday). According to him, rockets launched by Russia hit a grocery store in the town.

In his words, Zelenskyy sent his condolences to the families of the dead and pledged to help those injured from the attack. "This is a brutal and demonstrable Russian crime, a completely deliberate act of terrorism," he said. "This is a rocket attack on a regular grocery store when there are more than 48 dead. Russian terrorism must be stopped as soon as possible."

Zelenskyy added and attacked Russia's allies, claiming that "all those who help Russia circumvent the sanctions are criminals, anyone who still supports Russia until now - supports evil. Russia carries out terrorist attacks like this attack with one goal: to make its genocide the new norm of the whole world".

"I thank every leader, every nation that supports us in protecting life" concluded the Ukrainian president. "Now we are talking with European leaders about strengthening our air defense, about strengthening our soldiers, and about providing protection to our country against terrorism. We will respond to terrorists with force."
