Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu held a personal meeting with Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir in an effort to calm tensions between them and reconcile with the minister. This was reported this morning (Tuesday) in the "Yediot Ahronot" newspaper. The meeting followed reports that Ben-Gvir was not initially invited to the special security discussion held two days ago.

According to the report, the meeting between the two lasted for several hours and was intended to resolve the crisis between Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir, including issues related to the conditions of imprisonment for terrorists and his exclusion from security discussions. The meeting took place in a separate room at the Dan Caesarea Hotel, near Netanyahu's residence, but the two also occasionally went down to the lobby, where Ben-Gvir's son was also seen.

However, at this stage, it is not clear whether the two managed to reach an agreement or understanding on the issues that were the source of the dispute, despite reports from sources within the Likud party acknowledging that Netanyahu understood the need to come to terms with Ben-Gvir in order to maintain his government. The estimation is that Netanyahu is interested in resolving the conflict before the opening of the Knesset's winter session to prevent a situation where the Otzma Yehudit ('Jewish Power') party disrupts the coalition's activities.
