Firefighters from the Yehuda Regional Station operated a short time ago to rescue a person trapped after a traffic accident on Highway 398 near the Mazmoriya checkpoint.
Reshef Lili Ben Lulu, deputy commander of the shift, said: "We received a report of a serious traffic accident between two vehicles near the Mazmoriya checkpoint. On our way to the incident, we received a report that there was a woman trapped inside one of the vehicles."
"Upon arriving at the scene, we identified a head-on traffic accident between two private vehicles with difficult kinematics, and in one of the vehicles, a woman was trapped in the driver's seat. We immediately began complex rescue operations to extract the trapped person, using dedicated hydraulic tools. According to medical officials, death was determined due to the trap."
An emergency medic at the MDA, Yosef Marciano, said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the two vehicles that had severely hit. A 25-year-old woman was trapped inside the Israeli vehicle and suffered severe multi-system damage, and after she was rescued with the help of the firefighters, we began performing resuscitation operations, in the end, we had to determine her death. The two passengers of the Palestinian vehicle who were slightly injured were evacuated by the Red Crescent to the PA's territories."
