Hours before Yom Kippur, Israel prepares for the holy day and the beginning of the fast - when most of the country also shuts down, including all public transportation.

The frequency of the intercity buses will end between 14:00 and 15:00. It is recommended to be updated about each bus company on its website. Most of the lines will resume operation on Monday evening, Kippur's exit, around 20:30.

Train traffic will be reduced, starting at 12:00, and will stop completely at 14:00. The train service will only resume at midnight between Monday and Tuesday.
