Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has now (Wednesday) arrived at the "Intercontinental" hotel in New York, where he is expected to meet with US President Joe Biden. The meeting was supposed to start at 5:15 p.m. Israel time (10:15 a.m. New York time). but delayed for an unknown reason.

This is the first meeting of the two leaders since Netanyahu's return to the Prime Ministership last December. The two are expected to discuss the normalization steps with Saudi Arabia, the Iranian nuclear threat, and the tensions surrounding legal reform.

Before the meeting, the White House said that "President Biden will meet with Netanyahu to discuss a variety of bilateral and regional issues, focusing on the democratic values shared between our two countries." It was also said that Biden and Netanyahu will discuss "a vision for a more stable and prosperous and integrated region, as well as deterrence against Iran."

Last night Netanyahu met with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the UN General Assembly, as well as with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. During the meeting with Erdogan, the Prime Minister noted that the ties between the countries are getting stronger, and also said that it was decided to continue to promote the relations between the countries in the areas of trade, economy, and energy.

In addition, the leaders discussed regional and international issues, including the normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Netanyahu also thanked the Turkish president for the fruitful cooperation between the security organizations that thwarted the malicious intentions of terrorist groups to harm Israeli tourists in Istanbul. The two agreed that official visits will soon be made to Israel and Turkey.
