Left-wing protest leaders strongly criticized Benny Gantz, the leader of the Machane HaMamlachti party, following his condemnation of the violent attack on Rabbi Yigal Levinstein. Activist Costa Black, known as one of the leaders of the extreme left-wing organization Kumi Israel, claimed that Gantz was harming the protest and even called him derogatory names.
The sharp attack from the left: "Continuously flattering the destroyers of the state."
In response to the condemnation that Gantz posted on Twitter, Costa Black wrote: "Listen, dummy. Those who engage in violence against the liberal public are the people you are flattering and groveling to. Any attempt by you to create a fake symmetry, because that's what your advisors pushed you to do, is a spit in the face of hundreds of thousands of patriots who have been fighting in the streets for 9 months. You are simply sabotaging the most important struggle since the establishment of the state."
The left-wing activist continued to criticize Gantz: "You are so foolish that you can't even understand how much damage you are causing to the liberal camp with your foolish conduct, with the normalization you are doing with Netanyahu and his destructive government that is ruining every good part here, and with planted politicians like Matan Kahana that you brought into our camp. So, just shut your mouth and don't interfere with us doing what you, Lapid, and Michaeli were supposed to do. Leave your miserable condemnations to the Kahanists, village burners, and the state's destroyers from the cesspool that you can't stop flattering. Is that clear enough for you? The days when we lowered our heads are over. And you should understand that very soon."
"This is what the polls showed you that it is correct to write"
Moshe Rodman, considered one of the leaders of the protest and founders of the "Hi-Tech Protest," also criticized the opposition party leader and wrote to him: "Is this what the polls showed is right for you to write?! The words 'filth' and 'go back to the settlements' are what disturbed you?! What about the statements of the political arm of the Messianic-Zealot cult Limor Son Har Melech? We haven't heard any condemnation or commitment from you that you will never sit with her or any similar party in any government."
It should be noted that this is a false accusation as the Machane HaMamlachti party did respond to the statements of Son Har Melech, and, among other things, it is written there that it is the "moral low" of Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Redman continued: "For the body of the demonstration yesterday, I agree that some inappropriate (but also unrepresentative) statements came out of it, but you also don't think it's right to condemn Levinstein, the object of the demonstration. A dark man, a racist, a homophobe, a messianic whose ideologies undermine the existence of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state?? Where are you Benny, you are not with us..."
Gantz: "Incitement and violence are off limits"
As mentioned earlier today, Gantz condemned the violent attack on the former pre-military academy head, Rabbi Yigal Levinstein, and the leader of the "Rosh Yehudi" organization, near the "Rosh Yehudi" branch in Tel Aviv last night. In a tweet he posted on his Twitter account, Gantz wrote: "The calls and actions bordering on violence from the protest in Tel Aviv last night and the ugly statement by Ron Koffman, which it's good he retracted, are troubling and deserving of condemnation. Especially as liberals, we must ensure that we do not throw out the baby with the bathwater."
He also added: "A sharp and determined protest - yes. Generalizations against an entire public, incitement and violence - are off limits."
