Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today (Tuesday) with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during the UN General Assembly in New York. During the meeting, the two discussed the Iranian nuclear threat, following Tehran's decision to remove inspectors from the country's nuclear facilities this week.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office. At the beginning of the meeting, Netanyahu thanked Chancellor Scholz for his commitment to Israel and Germany's commitment to national security and the preservation of the special relationship.
"We cannot settle with Iran's announcement to remove the inspectors"
It was also said that "the two customs discussed Iran's defiant actions in spreading global terrorism and striving for nuclear weapons." Netanyahu emphasized that Iran's announcement regarding the removal of some of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) inspectors from Iran's nuclear facilities should not be accepted.
The two also discussed the tightening of security cooperation between the countries, headed by the agreement for the supply of the Arrow 3 air defense system that was recently concluded. This is in continuation of the strategic dialogue between Israel and Germany, which took place recently under the leadership of the national security advisors of the two countries.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Strategic Affairs, the Chief of Staff, the head of Mossad, the head of the National Security Council, the Cabinet Secretary, the Prime Minister's Military Secretary, the Israeli Ambassador to the UN, and the governmental advisor.
