The Food Service at the Ministry of Health is warning the public about counterfeit alcoholic beverages that contain prohibited substances for consumption, which were discovered and sampled during a joint operation of the Food Service in the Haifa district with the Tax Authority at the "S.S. Virginia Wines and Beverages" store in Or Akiva.
The products in which a tert-butanol-type pegol (tertiary butyl alcohol) is found:
1. "Vodka Belarus," BELARUS VODKA, 200 ml, 40% alcohol content, produced and bottled by D.B. Gad Ltd., barcode 3313171.
2. "Vodka Belarus," BELARUS VODKA, 1 liter, 40% alcohol content, produced and bottled by D.B. Gad Ltd., barcode 33131503. "SPIRT спирт" 96.9%" 1 liter, produced and bottled for A.R.Y. Alcoholic Beverages Importers Ltd., manufacturer code LA, barcode 729000888549.
Tert-butanol is a prohibited substance for use in alcoholic products. Consumption of this substance may cause skin and eye irritation and is harmful. Avoid using the product.
The Ministry of Health warns that one should avoid consuming counterfeit alcoholic beverages, as it may lead to severe health damage and even death.
