The 'Beyadenu' movement for the Temple Mount summarizes a Hebrew year in activity on the Temple Mount. According to the data in Beyadenu organization's guides, who are on the mountain every day, about 49,000 Jews went up to the Temple Mount in 2015. This is compared to just 51,644 who went up to the mountain in 2015 despite it being a leap year.
About 235 brides and grooms chose to go up the mountain on their wedding day this year according to traffic monitoring, and 72 boys and girls went up the mountain to celebrate a Bar and Bat Mitzvah. In addition, about 2,000 immigrants received training at the Temple Mount last year through 'Beyadenu' guides.
Along with the rise in numbers, this year there was an unimaginable amount of delays by the police when 236 pilgrims were arrested and detained on the Temple Mount, and about 62 were removed by administrative orders.
Tom Nisani, the general director of the movement, said that "the data are strengthening and encouraging. There is stability and consistency in the number of Jews going up to the mountain. Despite the intimidation and despite the restrictions that were even increased this year by the Israel Police, tens of thousands of Jews still choose to go to the holiest place for the Jewish people."
"There is no doubt that if it weren't for the police conduct and the excessive intimidation, many more would have arrived." Nisani concluded: "We wish all the people of Israel a happy new year, a year in which we will know how to respect the pilgrims and see that the policy of draconian administrative orders against them ends."
