The Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, decided to postpone the demand of the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, to make changes to the conditions of the Palestinian prisoners as soon as possible, and this because of the sensitivity of the Tishrei holidays. This was decided in the political-security cabinet, which today held a discussion on the assessment of the situation ahead of the holidays.

The Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers approved the operational preparation of all security agencies for the holidays and emphasized the importance of providing security and a sense of security to all Israeli citizens during this period. It was determined that the cabinet will hold a discussion in October on the subject of security prisoners in the prisons, and until this discussion no changes will be applied.

Sunday there was a stormy discussion about the conditions of the Palestinian prisoners. During the meeting, Ben-Gvir asked the Prime Minister to adopt his position as Minister of National Security on the issue of worsening the conditions of prisoners.

Ben-Gvir confronted the Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, who said: "It cannot be that after a decision was made on Thursday and it was agreed to hold a discussion regarding the prisoners, Minister Ben-Gvir makes an independent decision." Ben Gvir responded by saying that "it's a law that we enforce. Go about your office, I'll go about mine, don't interfere in my office"

After the discussion, the Prime Minister's Office clarified: "The decision regarding security prisoners will be made exclusively by the Prime Minister and the Cabinet," as stated in a decision made today.
