A fire broke out this morning (Thursday) in an apartment in a residential building on the Arava Street in Arad. During the attempts to control the fire, a man, approximately 30 years old, was reported to have been trapped at the scene and was not conscious. Subsequently, he was evacuated by medical personnel to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva in critical condition following resuscitation efforts.

The rescue operation began when firefighting and rescue teams from Dimona and Arad stations arrived at the scene and identified a fire with a person trapped on the fourth floor and smoke entering other apartments.

The teams began dividing into teams, with one conducting a entry into the apartment in order to locate and extract the trapped individual, while simultaneously, other teams worked on extinguishing the fire and conducting searches of the apartments.

The commander of the incident: "This is a complex incident, the fire has been brought under control"

The event commander, Lieutenant Yehoshua Yamin, described the incident: "This is a complex event involving a fire and smoke that penetrated into other apartments in the building, endangering all residents. In parallel with the rescue efforts for the trapped individual, we had to break into additional apartments, conduct searches, extinguish the fire, and clear smoke from the apartments and the building. At this stage, we have gained control over the incident, and we are evacuating the apartments and ventilating the building from the smoke."

Also, Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical technicians, Simcha Tzitrinboim and Israel Zibert, recounted: "When we arrived at the scene, we joined the firefighting teams already operating there. They brought out a man approximately 30 years old with severe burns on his body. We immediately conducted medical assessments; he was without a pulse and not breathing. We swiftly loaded him into MDA's intensive care ambulance, performed advanced life support, and transported him to the hospital."

Meanwhile, another fire broke out in a residential building on Jerusalem Street in Bat Yam, resulting in a 31-year-old man sustaining moderate injuries with burns to his limbs.
