In the past week, in a coordinated operation involving surveillance personnel from the Mabat Control Center in the Jerusalem District, together with officers from the Shafat Station in the Kedem Region, a covert and overt operation took place after receiving reports of stone-throwing incidents by the assailants from a bridge toward vehicles traveling on the road in the afternoon hours.

During this coordinated operation, two suspects were identified on the bridge by the police undercover unit, and at a certain stage, one of them threw a stone towards the vehicles below. A police force was quickly directed towards the suspects and they were arrested "in flagrante delicto."

The suspects, residents of Beit Hanina aged 17, were taken for questioning at the Shafat police station, and subsequently, they were brought before the prosecutor for an extension of their detention. After the judge did not grant the police's request, and due to the seriousness of their actions, the police decided to appeal his decision. In a hearing that took place at the district prosecutor's office later that same day, it was decided to extend the detention of the suspects for the purpose of further investigation.

Meanwhile, an additional indictment is expected to be filed in the coming days against a resident of the Abu Tor neighborhood after the completion of his investigation at the OZ police station in the Kedem Region. The suspect was arrested by the police after allegedly throwing a stone towards a residence in his neighborhood, causing damage to a parked vehicle when the stone entered it, with no injuries to individuals.

As part of an investigation initiated at the OZ police station in the Jerusalem District, the suspect was arrested on the same day while wearing the clothing in which he was documented committing the act. The suspect was transferred for questioning at the police station, and his detention was extended by the court.

From the police, it was reported: "The Israel Police will continue to vigorously combat offenders, violent lawbreakers, and those who disrupt order, attempting to harm civilians or security forces while endangering their safety, with the aim of enhancing public security and protecting their property."
