IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and Border Police forces, under the guidance of the Engineering Corps and with intelligence from the Shabak, operated last night (Monday) in the Nour Shams refugee camp and destroyed there numerous explosive devices that were ready for use, inside a building used as a headquarters for wanted individuals in the camp.
During the operation, terrorists fired grenades, threw explosives at the forces, and engaged in gunfire exchanges. In addition, IDF engineering equipment operating in the area of the refugee camp uncovered an explosive device that was subsequently detonated. During the operation, hits on the terrorists were identified, and there were no casualties among our forces.
Meanwhile, IDF soldiers operated simultaneously in several different locations. In the cities of Ramallah and Hebron, as well as in the villages of Azun, Aram, and Azzaiyem, forces arrested seven wanted individuals. In the Al-Arub refugee camp, two wanted individuals were apprehended. During the operation, terrorists threw stones and hurled Molotov cocktails and explosives at the forces, who responded with means to disperse the riots and fired into the air.
In the village of Aqab, the soldiers arrested three wanted individuals, located and confiscated an M-16 rifle, and additional military equipment. During the operation, suspects threw Molotov cocktails at the forces, causing damage to a military vehicle.
In the village of Anata, three additional wanted individuals were arrested, and a handgun and ammunition were located and confiscated. In the village of Al-Amari, the soldiers arrested three wanted individuals, discovered and confiscated firearm components, a handgun, bullets, and a magazine. During the operation, a violent disturbance erupted in which suspects threw Molotov cocktails and hurled stones at the forces, prompting the forces to respond with gunfire, resulting in a hit. During activity in the Jilazun refugee camp, another wanted individual was arrested, and a violent disturbance erupted. In response, the forces fired into the air.
The IDF reported that the arrested wanted individuals and confiscated weapons have been transferred for further handling by the relevant security forces. There were no casualties among our forces.
