Five days after the lynching in Binyamin, the Border Police Force handed out more than 15 demolition orders in Kochav HaShachar.
Today (Wednesday) in the morning hours, dozens of Border Police officers along with Civil Administration inspectors raided settlement points and farms in the Kochav HaShahar area, and issued dozens of demolition orders to houses in the area.
According to the residents, the operation to distribute the demolition order follows the widespread media coverage of the events in Binyamin last Saturday, in which a resident who was defending his life fired his personal weapon and as a result, according to the Arabs, one of the rioters was killed.
Yedidya Amsali, a resident of Givat A'irah Shachar, said, "This morning, we see dozens of police officers and inspectors beginning to hang demolition orders on all the houses in the area. They went from house to house throughout the hilltop and hung a notice on almost every one. Some of these houses have been here for several years. I can't recall a situation where they arrived and distributed so many orders."
At Givat A'irah Shachar, they expressed anger over the events this morning, stating, "For a week now, they've been painting us as murderers, despite the truth becoming clear about what happened in the incident in Burqa, and that it was completely self-defense by the residents. But the damage has already been done. Now we're seeing the results – the pursuit of the settlers and the destruction of the settlement."
In an official statement from Oz Zion it was conveyed, "After the lynching carried out by Arab assailants in Burqa against Jewish livestock herders last Saturday, the severe injuries, the absurd arrests, and the persecution, it was clear that the main goal of all the media noise was to undermine our settlement here. We won't be deterred and will continue to settle the land as we've been doing for years. We have great hope and trust in the right-wing government not allowing extreme left-wing elements to dictate the discourse and policy."
