"Israel will not be a Halakhic state"

"Israel will not be a Halakhic state" - The messages page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was exposed.

The protests are an expression of a democratic country, the judiciary will continue to be independent, and individual rights will be upheld: these are the messages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to its representatives around the world, in order to deal with international criticism

At the end of a stormy week, during which the law to limit The Clause of Reasonability was approved, and demonstrations against the government reached new peaks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes guidelines for diplomats and Israeli representatives worldwide to explain the events happening in Israel.

According to this morning's publication (Thursday) on Channel 13 news, in an official document, among other things, it was written:

"The government of Israel is promoting a reform aimed at strengthening the position of the legislative authority, based on the perception that in recent years the balance between the authorities has shifted, and the status of the legislative authority has weakened."

It was also written: "The protests seen in Israel in recent times are an example of Israeli democracy. There have been negotiations for compromises by the President in recent months. As the Prime Minister clarified, Israel must remain a strong democracy, continue to safeguard individual rights for all, and will not become a Halakhic state. The judiciary will remain independent without being controlled by any party."

As is known, in recent days, many countries have expressed their concerns about the advancement of legislative initiatives and widespread protests against the government, mainly in the United States and the European continent.

The document is intended to assist Israeli diplomats in conveying the messages of the Israeli government and dispelling tensions with those countries, primarily Western ones, that raise questions about the continued democratic nature of Israel.
