"Complete chaos": Wilders demands the dismissal of the Mayor of Amsterdam

A week after the riots in Amsterdam, the leader of the far-right in the country, Geert Wilders, demanded today (Wednesday) the dismissal of Mayor Femke Halsema during a discussion in the local parliament.

"Halema is a mayor of absolute chaos," Wilders claimed, referring to the violent protests that took place in Amsterdam at various events related to the city's Jewish community. "We saw it at the opening ceremony of the Holocaust Museum, we saw it again at the memorial ceremony for October 7th, and we saw it again last week." She has no control over things, her inability is unprecedented.

Dutch Member of Parliament Caroline van der Plas reinforced Wilders' words and said, "It is very concerning that there is a mayor who has no control over the matters that fall under her responsibility. The Jewish community does not feel that it receives support or a listening ear from her."
