Two NATO member countries have reported violations of their airspace by Russian drones. One incident occurred early Sunday morning when a drone entered Romanian territory amidst Moscow's nighttime attacks on civilian targets and port infrastructure across the Danube in Ukraine, according to Romania’s defense ministry.
The Romanian authorities responded by deploying F-16 warplanes to monitor the airspace and issuing text alerts to residents in two eastern regions. Fortunately, there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Additionally, Latvia’s defense minister, Andris Sprūds, reported that a Russian drone crashed near the town of Rezekne the previous day. It is believed that the drone had inadvertently crossed into Latvia from neighboring Belarus.
