The President of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, on behalf of the Brazilian Workers' Party, opened a front against Elon Musk following his comments on Brazilian politics. The Brazilian president's ongoing feud with Elon Musk over issues related to freedom of expression led to the decision to stop the activities of the social media site X owned by the billionaire.

Although the X social network is significant and very popular in Brazil. According to a study carried out about 40 million Brazilians, about a fifth of the population, are active on the social network.

Brazil's Supreme Court ordered the platform to be blocked throughout Brazil. The court previously issued orders to block a number of X accounts as part of the investigation conducted by the state regarding the "distribution of misinformation on the Internet and hate speech aimed at undermining democracy in the country", according to officials in the country.

Following the decision of the Brazilian Supreme Court, Brazilian President Lula da Silva told CNN that "the Brazilian justice system may have given an important signal that the world does not have to put up with Musk's extreme right, just because he is very rich."
