Flytrex, the pioneer in direct backyard drone delivery, has reached a significant milestone with 100,000 on-demand deliveries completed in suburban North Carolina and Texas, surpassing all other airborne food delivery services in the United States.
This achievement follows the recent approval by the US Federal Aviation Administration for drone flights without human observers, a development poised to accelerate Flytrex’s expansion.
“Our drones are designed for speed and efficiency, reaching up to 32 miles per hour and covering distances of up to five miles round trip. We’re able to deliver items in as little as five minutes,” stated Flytrex CEO and co-founder Yariv Bash.
Bash, who co-founded SpaceIL—a nonprofit that in April 2019 became the first private entity to land on the Moon—highlighted the growing importance of drone delivery in the US. “Drone delivery is swiftly becoming a staple, catering to Americans’ demand for instant gratification while also benefiting communities and the environment by reducing road congestion and pollution.”
Flytrex's drones provide an eco-friendly delivery solution, cutting down carbon emissions and minimizing road accidents. The company boasts an impressive fastest delivery time of under two minutes for distances up to two miles. Capable of carrying up to 5.5 pounds, the drones deliver not only prepared foods but also grocery items.
With an average delivery time of four minutes and 30 seconds—far superior to the typical 8-12 minutes for car deliveries without traffic, and 15-20 minutes with traffic—Flytrex is setting new standards in speed and efficiency.
