The governor of Russia's Kursk region informed Russian President Vladimir Putin today (Monday) that some 28 settlements in the area remain under Ukraine's control, according to France 24.

Ukraine has continued to make gains and solidify its presence in the region since the invasion began about a week ago, though Putin has promised to respond in force to this incursion into his territory.
