Following several days of unrest and clashes between far-right and Muslims across England, Prime Minister Keir Starmer issued a stark warning to far-right extremists, promising they “will regret” their actions after violent mobs set fire to hotels housing asylum seekers in Rotherham and Tamworth.

In a national address , the Prime Minister declared: “The police will be making arrests. Individuals will be held on remand, charges will follow, and convictions will come.” He emphasized, “I guarantee you will regret participating in this disorder, whether directly or through inciting it online and then hiding.”

Downing Street has announced an emergency Cobra meeting as the violence enters its sixth day. The meeting will brief ministers on the current situation, signaling that a public response is imminent.

So far, at least 147 people have been arrested amid riots that have ravaged major cities including Manchester, Liverpool, Hull, and Stoke, leaving widespread destruction in their wake.
