Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) introduced new legislation on Wednesday aimed at imposing tariffs on nations that import crude oil or petroleum products from Iran, accorging to the Jewish Insider.

The proposed Tariffs for Terrorism Act comes after extensive discussions with former President Donald Trump on strategies to further limit Iran's oil revenue. The legislation seeks to hinder Tehran’s ability to export its petroleum to nations that also engage with the United States.

“After many discussions with President Trump, I’m introducing legislation to impose tariffs on countries that purchase petroleum products from Iran,” Graham stated.

“It is long past time to make those who support this terrorist regime face consequences, and imposing tariffs on products coming into the United States is the right approach,” he said. “On day one, President Trump will reimpose maximum pressure on Iran. Starting with tariffs on nations that fuel terrorism and support the Ayatollah is an excellent first step.”
