French President Macron has refused Prime Minister Gabriel Attal's offer of resignation, asking him to stay on temporarily for the sake of the country's "stability," according to France 24.

Following the second round of French parliamentary elections, no political bloc has won an outright majority, though the far leftwing bloc has won the largest number of seats, followed by Macron's bloc, and then the far right, which was stymied in its efforts to win a majority or a plurality thanks to a great deal of crossover voting.

Due to the current political impasse, Attal had offered his resignation to make way for a new prime minister, an offer Macron has at least temporarily refused.
