BREAKING: Trump scores partial victory with new Supreme Court ruling

The Supreme Court ruling is likely to delay his federal criminal case for trying to overturn the election.

In a 6-3 ruling on Monday, the Supreme Court determined that former President Donald Trump has immunity for official acts he carried out as president.

As reported by Walla, while this decision is likely to delay his federal criminal case related to efforts to overturn the election, it won't derail the case entirely, as the court confirmed he can still be charged for activities beyond his official responsibilities.

The main significance of this ruling is that even if the district court decides that some of the four counts of the indictment against Trump relate to unofficial actions for which he does not have immunity - the trial will not end before the elections in November. Trump responded: "A great victory for our constitution and democracy. Proud to be an American."
