Report: Russian ships spying on vital Israeli asset

Naval News reports that two Russian spy submarines may be studying Israel's latest naval acquisition.

Russian submarines may be collecting intelligence on the INS Drakon, Israel's newest submarine acquisition set to be conducting sea trials in Germany, according to Naval News.

The Drakon, built by built by ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems in Kiel, will be undergoing sea trials off the coast of Germany. Two Russian submarines, the Sibiryakov and the Wassili Tatischtschew, known to serve both civilian and military purposes, are in the area and are likely monitoring its movements and capabilities.

Few details are known publicly about the INS Drakon, and Naval News reports that it will be capable of carrying part of Israel's nuclear deterrent once it enters service.
