White House: It is time for the war to end

The United States, together with 17 other countries, issued a statement calling on Israel and Hamas to "make whatever final compromises are necessary" to end the war and release the hostages.

The United States, together with 17 other countries including Canada and the United Kingdom, issued a joint statement today (Thursday) calling on both Israel and Hamas to "make whatever final compromises are necessary" to adhere to the reported Israeli deal offer.

The statement further noted that "At this decisive moment, we call on the leaders of Israel as well as Hamas to make whatever final compromises are necessary to close this deal and bring relief to the families of our hostages, as well as those on both sides of this terrible conflict, including the civilian populations." 

The statement ends with the unequivocal determination that "It is time for the war to end and this deal is the necessary starting point."
