Former US representative to the UN, Nikkey Haley, who ran in the Republican primaries and lost to Donald Trump, announced last night (Wednesday) that she will be voting for Trump in the presidential elections this November.

In what was Haley's first public appearance since she withdrew from the race in March, she said that when it comes to foreign policy, Trump "wasn't perfect, but President Biden was a catastrophe." "So I will vote for Trump," she promised.

About a week ago, it was reported that Trump was considering offering Haley to be his running mate. According to the report, Trump's election headquarters was considering choosing Haley if he was convinced she could help him win the elections and avoid a prison term. Trump, himself, was quick to deny the report.

The rivalry between the two politicians intensified during the primary. Before announcing her retirement, Haley said: "I know the American people will not vote for a convicted felon," adding that: "Trump is everything I taught my children not to do in kindergarten."

Trump, for his part, called Haley offensive names time and time again, labeling her a "bird brain" and even mocking her husband who is in military service in Africa. "Where's her husband? Oh, he's gone, he's gone, what happened to her husband?" he was quoted as saying.
