Iran's interior minister, Ahmad Vahidi, confirmed reports that President Raisi's helicopter crashed and said it had a "hard landing." So far, rescue teams have not been able to locate the missing copter.

Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that earlier in the day, Iranian President Raisi and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were involved in a helicopter crash during a flight in eastern Azerbaijan.

According to the report, the accident occurred while a convoy of three helicopters was making its way from Tehran to Baku. At some point, the helicopter had to make an emergency landing. Raisi's companions contacted the control center and reported the accident, and rescue forces were called to the scene.

At this stage, no casualties have been officially reported in the incident. It was also said that the other two helicopters reached their destination safely.

According to the reports of IRNA, Fars and Tasnim, speculations are getting worse about the fate of the missing helicopter carrying the President.

The Red Crescent reports that drones were launched to search the scene.
