Senior US Senator: "We used the atom bomb - Israel can too" 

Veteran senator of the Republican Party and avowed Israel supporter, Lindsey Graham, was interviewed by an American news network and announced that he would support any action undertaken by Israel to preserve the country and its citizens, and even went so far as to hint at the use of nuclear weapons. Graham said during the interview: "We dropped two atomic bombs in order to end an existential war against the Japanese Empire, I think it was okay to do that."

The senator continued: "Unlike others, I am not a hypocrite. I say to Israel - do whatever it takes to maintain the existence of the Jewish state. If we can, you can too." When asked by the interviewer if he really meant for Israel to use a nuclear bomb, Graham responded enthusiastically: "Let them do whatever they are required to do!"

Since Biden and his team announced that they would delay arms shipments to Israel, Graham and members of the Republican Party have strongly challenged the White House on the issue.
