Iranian Attack

Following the Iranian attack: Jordanian army makes "unusual" decision

Jordanian officials say they realize they have unwittingly entered the battle between Israel and Iran, and this morning began to take significant steps regarding the protection of their airspace.

After successfully intercepting dozens of drones fired from Iran at Israel, and after Iran's threat that it is "next in line," Jordan is increasing its air preparedness and not allowing any party to operate in its airspace.

According to Kan News' Roi Kais, the Jordanian army announced tonight that it has increased fighter jet sorties in Jordanian airspace to prevent aerial infiltration of the kingdom's skies. The report also states that in a message delivered early this morning, it was stated that this move emphasizes that Jordan will not allow the use of its airspace, by any entity, for any purpose whatsoever.

In the meantime, new details about the attack from Iran indicate that Jordan allowed Israel's fighter jets to operate in its airspace to intercept missiles from Iran, an Air Force source told the NBC network. Jordanian sources are denying, however, that the country entered a state of emergency during the attack. Local media attempted to alleviate fears by broadcasting regular programs.

In Israel, preparations are reportedly being made for a military response that will likely include attacks against the Iranian military and proxy militias supported by Tehran.
