Fearing an Israeli response and regional escalation, the French Embassy in Iran called on its citizens to leave the country after Saturday night's attack.

French officials addressed citizens residing in Iran: "Due to the new attack carried out by Iran overnight and risk of military escalation, the French Embassy recommends to French residents in Iran that in accordance with the resumption of international air traffic, they leave the country temporarily." An emergency call center was opened at the French Embassy in Iran to field queries submitted by French citizens in the country.

The embassy added, "Furthermore, we remind you that French citizens are advised to completely avoid traveling to Iran, Lebanon, Israel, and the Palestinian Territories."

At the same time, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday (Sunday) that it summoned the ambassadors of Great Britain, France and Germany to protest these countries condemning the Iranian strike.

"The three European diplomats were summoned to the office following the irresponsible positions of certain officials in these countries regarding Iran's response to the series of actions of the Zionist regime against the citizens and interests of our country," Iran's foreign office was quoted as saying.
