The "Al-Hadad" network reported extensive online disruptions and disconnections throughout Iran today (Monday). At this stage it is not clear what caused the malfunctions. In documentations published on social networks, it appears that many areas of the Iranian capital have been cut off from electricity and left in the dark.
According to suspicions, Israel may be behind the attack. Local reports claim that a group of Israeli hackers published a message several hours before the disruptions began which read in Hebrew and English: "Iran, Tehran? Today at 6 p.m. Israel time we will surprise you. We are so deep inside that you will not even be able to turn on your lights at home. Prepare candles."
You will recall that last October there were reports of severe disruptions in the electricity grid in Tehran apparently due to a cyber attack.
