British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reiterated his support for Israel, but at the same time said that "this terrible war against Hamas must end. All the hostages must be released, and Gaza must be flooded with aid."

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak noted that half a year has gone by since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and called for action to end the conflict and release all the hostages. While Sunak pledged to continue supporting Israel, he called on the government to increase humanitarian aid delivered to the Gaza Strip.

"Today we mark six months since the October 7 terrorist attack - the most horrific attack in Israel's history, and the worst loss of Jewish life since World War II," Sunak said in a statement to the media. "Six months later, the Israeli wounds still haven't healed. Families are still grieving and hostages are still being held by Hamas."

"We continue to stand by Israel, and support its right to defeat the threat from Hamas terrorists and protect its security, but all of Britain is shocked by the bloodshed, and shocked by the killing of the British heroes who brought food to those in need," he added. "This terrible war against Hamas must end. All the hostages must be released, and aid - which we tried to deliver by land, air and sea - should be flooded."

In conclusion, Sunak stated that: "Gaza needs an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, which will lead to a sustainable long-term ceasefire. This is the fastest way to get hostages out and help them, and to stop the fighting and loss of life for the benefit of both Israelis and Palestinians - who all deserve to live in peace, dignity and security. We will continue work to achieve it."
