US pressure to bring an end to the war in Gaza continues to increase. One of the reasons for the pressure, revealed the New York Times, is that the President's wife, Jill Biden, is pressuring him to resort to tougher measures on Israel to put an end to the conflict.

According to the report, President Biden told a group of leaders of the Muslim communities in the US that his wife is pressuring him to stop the war.

The New York Times said that Biden's statement came after one of the leaders at the meeting said that his wife tried to prevent him from attending the meeting since he supports the war and Israel. The president quickly retorted in the same vein: "My wife told me: stop this war already, you have to stop it now."

Besides the president's wife, there is growing opposition among the Democratic Party to the continuation of the war and constant pressure to stop it.
