Harvard Law School Student Government passes resolution accusing Israel of "genocide" and calling for divestment

Critics accuse the move of being rushed and contrary to standard rules for resolution passing.

The Harvard Law School Student Government passed a resolution last week accusing Israel of genocide and called for the university to "divest completely from weapons manufacturers, firms, academic programs, corporations, and all other institutions."

Critics of the move noted that the voting process was "rushed" and made anonymous in order to protect potential law firm candidates from sanctions after passing such a controversial resolution, according to the Algemeiner.

Harvard University has been in the national spotlight in the United States for allegedly tolerating and even supporting virulently anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric on campus ever since October 7, including a televised and highly controversial hearing before Congress.

The number of those applying to Harvard has also decreased somewhat this year, possibly due to the aforementioned controversy.
