The fight against maritime terrorism: the Indian Navy has moved three warships to the Red Sea region - this was reported today (Tuesday) on the BBC News network. The move comes as a response to the attack on the merchant ship that took place near the coast of India, which according to estimates was carried out by Iran.

"India will maintain the safety of all ships in the Indian Ocean and the entire region. Following the increase in attacks in the Red Sea region, three ships have been stationed in this region to maintain deterrence," said India's Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh. "We will find those responsible for the attack that took place on the shores of our country, and we will take firm measures against them."

As mentioned, last weekend it was reported that a merchant ship with "Israeli connections" was attacked by an unmanned aircraft near the west coast of India. The maritime security company "Embray" informed that a fire broke out on the ship following the attack, but it was extinguished in a short time. Also, no injuries were reported among the crew members.

The ship that was attacked was carrying chemical products and crude oil towards Mangaluru in India, when it was attacked about 200 km southwest of its destination port. In the US they claimed that the UAV that attacked the ship was launched from Iran, but in Tehran they denied the statements and said that these were "baseless accusations".
