At least 15 people were killed and 24 others were injured in a shooting incident that took place today (Thursday) in Prague - this is what the local police in the Czech Republic announced. According to the reports, the shooting took place at Charles University, which is located near Jan Palach square in the city center.
Students who studied at the university said that the shooting was carried out in the Faculty of Philosophy building, when many students locked themselves in classrooms and the library, while others fled the scene. Posts on social media showed people fleeing the scene of the shooting.
Following the incident, the university complex was closed to traffic, and the police called on the public not to come to the area. It was also said that the police are searching for suspects - and later it was reported that the suspect was killed. At this point, the circumstances of the incident are still unclear.
