Just 11 months before Election Day, a new CNBC poll shows that former President Donald Trump continues to maintain a steady lead over incumbent President Joe Biden, even after the Colorado State Supreme Court ruled that he cannot run in the state's primary.
A new survey published by the American network shows a situation that should worry many in the White House. The survey reveals that, despite his legal challenges, former President Donald Trump continues to maintain a stable and significant lead of between five and six percent among the American public over Joe Biden, while if the elections were held today, Trump would win about 48% of the vote, compared to Biden who would win only 42%.
The survey comes just after the local Supreme Court of the state of Colorado ruled that Trump violated the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, an amendment dating back to the Civil War that prohibits "factors who acted to carry out a coup" from running for official positions. Following this ruling, the court ruled that Trump will not be able to compete in the primary in the state of Colorado, a ruling that former President Trump has announced he will appeal to the US Federal Supreme Court.
