"Show Restraint"

Saudi Arabia to the US: Show Restraint in Response to the Houthi Attacks

It was reported on the Reuters network that Saudi Arabia asked the US to "show restraint" in the military response to attacks by the Houthi rebels against vessels in the Red Sea - this in order to prevent the expansion of the war to other countries in the region.

The Saudi government asked the US to "show restraint" in any military response to attacks by the Houthi rebels against vessels in the Red Sea - as reported today (Wednesday) by the Reuters news agency. According to the report, Saudi Arabia's request came with the aim of preventing the expansion of the war to other countries in the area.

Sources close to the Saudi government said that "at this point, Riyadh is satisfied with the way the United States is managing the situation in the Red Sea." However, it was said that the Saudis "put pressure on the Americans on this issue, as well as on the reasons for stopping the war in Gaza." The White House and Saudi Arabia refused to comment on the report.

As a reminder, in recent weeks there have been several incidents in the Red Sea near Yemen, when the Houthi rebels attacked vessels that were there. Just this morning, an incident involving unmanned aerial systems was reported west of Hudaydah port, and earlier this week it was reported that a UAV attacked a vessel in the Bab-el-Mandeb area.
