Houthis Attacked for the Fourth Time

For the Fourth Time: the Houthis Attacked a Ship in the Red Sea

For the fourth time in a week, a cargo ship was attacked in Bab el-Mandeb Strait - the gateway to the Red Sea. The ship was lightly hit by a drone and managed to escape from the area. The Houthis are becoming a global problem.

Maritime terrorism continues: The British Navy's Trade Management Department (UKMTO) announced an incident that occurred today (Monday) in which a cargo ship was attacked in the Bab el-Mandeb Gulf area at the entrance to the Red Sea. This is the fourth time this week that a merchant ship has been attacked in the area.

The message said that an explosion was heard in the southeastern region of Yemen, when they said an unmanned aircraft also arrived from Yemen. The ship was not damaged and is speeding away from the area. It was also said that the details are under investigation, with vessels in the area being warned to take extra care.

As mentioned, this is the fourth time this week that an attack on a ship near Yemen has been reported. Yesterday, two British ships that are not connected to Israel were attacked. One was hit by a surface-to-sea missile and almost drowned. The second was hit by an exploding UAV.

Last week it was said that an oil tanker "linked to an Israeli company" was attacked by a suspicious vessel in the Gulf of Aden. The British Maritime Trade and Transport Organization said that the tanker, which belongs to a British company linked to Israel, was subject to threats from the Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Apparently, the incident is related to political factors in Yemen.

Danger zone

A week before it was reported that the Houthi rebels had taken over an Israeli ship with 22 crew members on board. According to the report, the abduction took place north of Yemen in the Red Sea area a little south of the Egypt-Sudan border.

It later turned out that it was not Israeli crew members, but a partially Israeli-owned ship. The IDF spokesman said that the hijacking of the ship is "a very serious incident at the global level. This is a ship that left Turkey on its way to India with an international civilian crew, without Israelis. This is not an Israeli ship."
