Excitement in the Jewish community: A week after he surprised with an overwhelming victory in the elections, the president-elect of Argentina, Javier Milei, arrived last night (Saturday) at the synagogue of Rabbi David Hanania Pinto, where he emotionally thanked the rabbi for the support and blessing that led to his victory. The president came to visit the rabbi several times before holding the elections, and now went to receive a blessing for his continued success.

During the meeting, Rabbi Pinto offered a special prayer for the release of the abductees, and then met with Milei who expressed his deep gratitude for the support throughout the election campaign, and promised to stand by the Jewish community and the State of Israel. In addition, the president-elect participated in the Havdalah while wearing a kippah on his head.

In his words, the president promised to keep in touch with the rabbi and the Jewish community in Argentina, saying that he "celebrates this beautiful country, and asks God to protect the nation of Argentina in order to return Argentina to what it was before. I am sure that with God's help we will succeed." The rabbi said in response: "God will bless you and I will always pray that he will watch over you from heaven to give you what you need to succeed."

As mentioned, Javier Milei was elected president last week after registering a surprising victory in the elections. During the campaign he expressed his absolute support for Israel, and its legitimate right to its defense; condemned the terrorism of Hamas and called for the return of the abductees. In addition, Milei pledged that he would move the Argentine embassy from Herzliya to Jerusalem.
