A short time ago today (Sunday), former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett posted a statement on X, strongly refuting former Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon's claim that Israel was committing "ethnic cleansing" in the Gaza Strip.

In the post, Bennett said that "There is no military more moral than the Israel Defense Forces. The IDF has bent over backwards to minimize loss of civilian life. All of Israel’s actions in Gaza adhere to the Geneva Conventions. The population is moved away from danger for its own safety," and not, as Yaalon alleges, to make way for a resettlement of the Gush Katif settlement bloc, which Israel uprooted in 2005.

He ended by saying that the removal of the population from the combat zone "is not only the IDF’s right to do so, it is its obligation."
