Bill Ackman, the investor and philanthropist who was among the first major figures to sound the alarm about antisemitism at Harvard, donated $18,000 to the widow of Rabbi Tzvi Kogan, who was kidnapped and murdered in the UAE last week.

Rabbi Kogan's wife Rivky is conducting a fundraising effort on RaiseThon, with the aim of raising around $770,000 to continue her and her husband's work in the United Arab Emirates. It has raised almost $525,000 thus far. The campaign ends in 6 days.

As the campaign explains:

"Rabbi Zvi and Rivky Kogan began their shlichus in 2022. Shortly after getting married, they embarked on a 13-hour flight to Abu Dhabi, where they joined the efforts of Rabbi Levi Duchman, becoming an integral part of the growing Jewish community in the United Arab Emirates.

"Together, they dedicated themselves to spreading the light of Torah and Yiddishkeit, hosting shiurim, Shabbos and Yomtov meals, and community events. Zvi focused on building the kosher infrastructure and managing Chabad house operations, while Rivky poured her heart into connecting with women through Challah bakes and monthly women’s programs."
