Second clash at Tzur Harel: 2 soldiers Injured as settlers fight evacuation

It's just the latest in a string of increasingly tense standoffs - over the weekend, forces carried out their fourth demolition at the site, using heavy engineering equipment and civil administration inspectors.

Two IDF soldiers were hurt this morning in yet another violent confrontation at the Tzur Harel outpost. One took a glass bottle to the head and is in moderate condition, while another suffered light injuries after settlers pelted security forces with rocks and objects.

This marks the fifth time authorities have cleared the site, with Border Police using riot dispersal gear to control the situation. Just hours after yesterday's evacuation, settlers had rebuilt, prompting today's dawn operation to remove the structures again.

"Defense Minister Israel Katz is starting off on the wrong foot," angry settlers said after the clash. "Despite the destruction, we're pushing ahead full force."

The confrontation turned ugly when settlers accused security forces of using excessive force, including stun grenades and tear gas.

In fact, just yesterday, Finance Minister Smotrich was talking about making 2025 "the year of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria."

Meanwhile, these clashes between masked settler youth and security forces are becoming more common, especially when authorities try to tackle illegal outposts. Today's attack shows just how tense things have gotten on the ground.
