Foreign Minister Gideon Saar gave a press conference to dozens of reporters from around the world today (Monday), just one day after he entered the role.

There, he said that "nuclear weapons in the hands" of the Iranian regime "is the most dangerous thing for the peace of the world and the peace of the region. This is the most important issue from the perspective of the State of Israel.

Regarding a possible ceasefire deal in Lebanon, Saar said that there is "some progress" in the efforts to reach a deal and that they are working with America on the issue.

He also said that a deal would require Hezbollah being north of the Litani River and unable to rearm via Syria, the sea, the airport, or any other way. He said "our central challenge will be to enforce what was agreed upon. We will insist on all the issues related to Israel's national security."
